North East School District’s football field had a drainage issue, but the district was happy with the current grass surface. Although Hummer Turfgrass’ home base and North East School District are over 350 miles apart the connection was made through Pennsylvania’s COSTARS program of which both are members. This job was completed in the summer of 2013 inside one week. Hummer Turfgrass’ Sand Grid Drainage System was installed over the existing grass surface of the football field with no damage. Seed was applied on top of the drainage lines. Immediately before the fall football season Hummer returned to the site to re-fertilize the field and check on the grow-in of the seeded drainage lines. A full fall sports season was played on the field and the district says is has never looked better!
“We have had drainage problems on our football field for years. By the end of the season the field was always a mushy muddy mess. The Hummer Sand Grid System has eliminated this problem entirely. Our field is playable no matter how much rain we get. Now instead of complaints, we receive compliments on our field. The Hummer team did a professional job and was a pleasure to work with. Our system was installed in June and by the opening game, the field looked perfect. A Hummer Sand Grid System is the best investment you can make in a natural field.”
