In order to keep their renovated infield in top condition the Spring City Red Sox contracted Hummer Turfgrass Systems to get their infield in shape for spring baseball. Wear areas were repaired with sod, infield material was laser leveled and the pitcher’s mound was repaired with clay. Hummer offers fall baseball maintenance as an annual service to their clients to keep their fields looking first class.
The home of the Spring City Red Sox American Legion and Spring Ford High School was in need of a makeover. Hummer Turfgrass was contracted to remove the existing grass on the infield and apron areas as well as convert the baselines from infield material to natural grass. Topsoil was imported to achieve proper grading along with the removal of the lips that had built up along the infield edges. The infield mix was graded with additional material imported for a smooth finish. The Hummer crew also rebuilt the pitchers mound and home plate areas with clay in preparation for spring baseball. Kentucky Bluegrass big roll sod was installed to complete the renovation.
