• Hummer Turfgrass renovating Wallenpaupack Area School district soccer field

    Hummer Turfgrass Systems has been contracted to complete a total field renovation for the Wallenpaupack Area School district soccer field. The renovated surface will feature a regraded surface, automatic irrigation, the Hummer Sand Grid Drainage System and Big Roll Sod. The project will start in Spring 2018.

    For the third straight season Hummer Turfgrass Systems and sister company Sporting Valley Turf Farms will provide the temporary playing surface for Penn FC at FNB Field in Harrisburg. The infield at FNB Field, home of the Senators will be converted to sod and then removed six times throughout the summer.

    Hummer Turfgrass Systems is working for a repeat customer at Juniata County School District. Hummer will construct a new soccer field at Fermanagh Elementary School over the Summer of 2018. This is the second field that Hummer has worked on following the completion of the Dietrick Stadium football field in 2016.

    Hummer Turfgrass Systems of Lancaster, PA recently completed a full football stadium field renovation for Tyrone Area School District. The storied Golden Eagle football team will play on the new stadium field, located in Tyrone, PA, this upcoming 2017 fall season. The renovation was completed in July 2017.

  • Lincoln Financial Field – 2016 Sod Install

    Philadelphia Eagles

    Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, has had quite a busy summer. The field hosted multiple musical concerts and three games for the COPA America Centenario. Since the field must be in pristine condition for the upcoming football season, Hummer Turfgrass was brought in to lay the fresh turf. Big Roll sod was rolled out and then put into place with a Sidekick machine.

  • Beaver Stadium – 2015 Mid-Season Renovation

    Beaver Stadium 2015 Renovation

    Beaver Stadium, this storied field, has had many renovation projects over the years, but the entire playing surface has not been renovated since 2005. Ten years and five straight, rainy home games in a row; Beaver Stadium was ready for a makeover. Working for four days, our crews were able to strip the old surface off with the Koro Topmaker and haul it off-site with our dump carts. The next step was to laser grade the field to the correct crown and the field was then finished with thick cut Kentucky Bluegrass Big Roll sod. Thick cut sod was used to ensure that the rolls would stay in place when the field was used only two weeks later!
